PAUL CORDEIRO

One breath at a time, one step at a time to clarity and balance.

Paul is a dancer, choreographer, performance maker and teacher. He’s worked across genres from cabaret to mega-musicals. His experience immigrating to Australian has formed his ethos – connect people to create community.

.

Paul featured in the King and I for Gordon Frost and West Side Story for IMG. He was Resident Choreographer for the original Australian production of Disney’s The Lion King, preparing for the role on Broadway and Chicago before commencing in Sydney.

.

For The Sydney 2000 Olympic Opening Ceremony, he was the assistant choreographer on the Nature and Arrivals segments.

.

He has danced with Opera Australia, directed and choreographed dance parties for thousands of attendees and created and performed in work for cultural communities; from the Asian community and the queer community. Paul was part of a Bollywood dance troupe for seven years spreading the joy of Bollywood.

.

Over the last ten years, Paul has worked with Melbourne based multi-award-winning company Finucane & Smith as a core member and senior artist. For this troupe, he’s performed at the Sydney Opera House and toured nationally and regionally.

.

Paul is also a professional fitness and yoga instructor teaching in gyms and studios all over Sydney. He has created Maru Mi – moving meditation to shift, breathe and calm the mind.

.

Along with his group classes, Paul facilitates classes for corporate and private clients, working with people from 12-75. He is now mentoring people in his own philosophy and approach to finding their personal power and success.

Paul is currently the choreographer for Midnight Feast by Theatre that Unites – a company of mixed physical and mental abilities who are preparing for their show at the Sydney Opera House.
