Bali Padda is an Actor, Producer, Developer, Diversity Advisor and Speaker. He is a social activist and passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in the Australian arts and cultural sectors. As Chair of the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance’s (MEAA) Equity Diversity Committee, Bali’s work has been fundamental in guiding the conversation on the representation of diverse communities in the mainstream media, particularly on stage and screen.
In that capacity, Bali provided a key voice in Screen Australia’s significant study of diversity in the Australian screen industry, Seeing Ourselves: Reflections on diversity in Australian TV drama.
As a Development Executive, he participated in Screen Australia’s landmark 2017 program Seeing Ourselves: Developing the Developers and was granted a Screen Australia-funded placement with Jungle Entertainment in drama development.
Bali’s diversity and inclusion work in the screen industry lead to Australia’s first Diversity Showcase in July 2018, hosted by the Equity Foundation and the Equity Diversity Committee, and supported by Screen Australia in partnership with the Australian Writers’ Guild and the Australian Directors’ Guild.
